If you’re heading to the slopes and want your gear handled by people who actually "get it," you have to check out Ski & Board Traventuria. The vibe in there is super chill and welcoming, but don't let the relaxed atmosphere fool you—they are total pros when it comes to technical prep.
The real MVP of the shop is their pro-grade ski service machine. It’s a total lifesaver for riders who have their own private skis and boards and want them fixed up properly. I brought in my board after a rough weekend of hitting rocks, and they ran it through the machine for a full tune-up. It came out looking brand new, with edges sharp enough to handle the icy runs.
The best part? They also have high-tech drying lockers. There’s nothing worse than pulling on damp, cold boots in the morning, so being able to stash your gear in a heated, secure locker is a massive win. You leave your stuff overnight and come back to toasty, bone-dry boots ready for first tracks.
The staff are legends—always down to chat about snow conditions while they get your setup dialed in. If you want a factory-quality finish and a comfortable experience, Traventuria is definitely the spot.

The overall experience was good, apart from one thing, the availability of 7* supreme ski is really poor for the price. No models available for the current or previous year. There is no transparency about the models or catalogue before you rent, and on the phone, they assured me they have certain models. Still, they weren't available. I mentioned in the notes the skis and level I usually rent but I think they were ignored. Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall the quality of the other ski level for hire is good, but if you want advanced ski models for rent, I will not recommend.

Staff generally friendly. Rented the a two sets of skis ⛷️ for 4 days, overall happy with the equipment and service. Though I the boots I was given could have been better, ankle was hurting by the end. - I went skiing a month ago elsewhere and didn’t have the same challenge with the boots.

I’ll start with the good things: the equipment was really great, and the staff at the Royal plaza branch were very nice.

I ordered the equipment online, and the website said there was up to 35% discount, but this turned out not to be true, the prices in the shop were the same. It was about 70 euros for four days.

I ordered a package through the website that included skis, poles, and boots. There was no option to add a helmet. I chose to pick up the equipment at the Vila Park branch. It was my first time in Borovets, and it looked close enough to the gondola on the map.

When I arrived in town, I realized that the branch is actually quite far from the gondola, and my shuttle to the hotel stops right next to the Royal plaza branch.

I asked if I could return the equipment at the Royal plaza branch at the end of the rental so it would be easier for me to catch my shuttle. After some hesitation, they agreed and allowed me to return it there.

As I mentioned, there was no option to add a helmet when ordering online, so I asked to add one in the shop. They charged me 25 euros for four days just for the helmet, which I think is much more expensive than it should be.

I also asked to rent a storage locker at the Royal plaza branch, which cost me another 40 euros for four days. In my opinion, this is also very expensive, especially considering that I rented all the equipment from them.

Overall, the service I received was good and I’m satisfied, but I feel that the prices were unfair. I paid 65 euros for a helmet and a locker for four days, which is almost the same price as all the ski equipment.

I also forgot to mention one more thing.At the Vila Park branch they gave me skis with a length of 156 cm, while my height is 184 cm. I didn’t really understand why the skis were so short for me.

Later, at the Royal Plaza branch, they replaced them with 163 cm skis, which felt much more comfortable and much more suitable for me.

The staff isn't helpful
We had a problem with one of us that they don't have their size and till now no one replies online, and in the store they said online orders can only be refunded online
I recommend to go to small shops to rent, they are much more organized and helpful

The team at Traventuria Royal Plaza in Borovets are very friendly, knowledgeable and speak excellent English. The store is located mid way between the two main ski areas and has lockers with heated boot dryers that were a lifesaver! We were greeted with a smile every day. Fantastic service!

We spent the week skiing in Borovets and rented all our equipment from Traventuria. From pick-up to drop-off, the team were friendly, organised and genuinely helpful.

The boot fitting in particular stood out. They were incredibly patient while we swapped and changed boots to get the perfect fit, never rushing us and making sure comfort came first. Anyone who skis knows how important that is for a full week on the slopes.

The equipment itself was in excellent condition, well maintained and clearly serviced regularly. Collection was smooth, sizing was efficient, and returning everything at the end of the week was quick and hassle-free.

What really made the difference was the attitude of the staff — professional, knowledgeable and calm even during busy periods. It made the whole process easy and stress-free, which is exactly what you want on a ski holiday.

Highly recommended for anyone heading to Borovets and looking for reliable kit and great service. We’ll definitely use Traventuria again next time.

Easy to work with especially during gear fitting. Me and a friend took snowboard lessons 3/4 days we were there. Our teacher was legendary. Ask for Dimite if he’s able to be your teacher. He also has an awesome Akita called Kita. He hung out with us even post lesson and on the 4th day too. Enjoyed our experience with traventuria and the main man Dimite.

Mixed reviews on the service, one guy said we couldn’t use the other stores around Borovets for equipment drop off but others said we could. Equipment was ok, but paid for advanced equipment and was only provided a very heavy beginner board.
Convenient locations for the other stores, would recommend just using ones up the mountain and getting a locker for €10 per day.

My brother and I hired snowboards, helmets, boots, and purchased lift passes. The staff were all very helpful and professional, and flexible adjusting to a late arrival. Equipment was all great and I believe the lift pass was a fair bit cheaper than purchasing directly on arrival. Would use them again and would recommend.
